Dear Saksi,

ako po ang el bajo de banda, at etong mga kasama ko ay si el lido at el tambolero.  kami po ay sumusulat sa inyo ngayon sapagka’t nawawala sa aming piling ang isang pinaka-importanteng tao sa amin, ang la kantatera.  itago nalang po natin siya sa pangalang KAT SABAL.  huli po namin siyang nasilayan noong kami’y nagkasama-sama upang gumawa ng DEMO DISC OF DEMONSTRATION <more info in previous blog> nguni’t pagkatapos ng araw na iyon ay hindi na namin siya nakapiling muli.

ang pakay po namin sa aming pagsulat ng liham na ito ay upang matulungan sana kaming hanapin ang aming nawawalang kaibigan.  at baka sakaling mabasa niya ito, malaman niya na mahal namin siya at oo, buhay pa ang gumamela sa hardin ng rosas ni Bhogarthe.  kung sino man ang nakakita sa aming matalik na kaibigan, pakisabi sa kanya, tugtog naman kami minsan.

as fireproof has mentioned in the previous blog entry, we have recorded a disc, wherein we demonstrate our talents and songs.  henceforth, this disc of demonstration shall be known as the "demo disc", got it?  now, this demo disc, although created with the utmost care that could be provided at a time such as the time when it was created, is not a perfect demo disc.  bear with us, and bare it all, and grisly bear drinking beer too, if it is not as wonderful as metallica or josie and the pussycats, ok?

kami magsasagawa ng isang "logo making contest"

sa "logo making contest" na ito, aming papangaralan ng honorary fireproof chunkee medal ang sino mang makakagawa ng isang "logo" na talaga namang nakaka-akit at kabighabighani na para sa fireproof caloy. yun laman po. salamat

salamat sa mga nagpunta’t nanood ng PHacoustics kagabi, sept. 23, 2005 sa ph auditorium.  ticket price ay P30, murang mura, galing probinsya, featuring seven, oo, seven rising bands of the year.  this acoustic concert was made possible by the Public Health Artists Circle.  pero walang silbi din ang description na ito kasi, gaya ng sabi ko, nagpapasalamat na lang kami sa mga pumunta’t nanood ng PHacoustics…tapos na kasi eh, kagabi pa yun.  wala na, hintay nalang kayo ulit ng 17 years bago kami magka-gig ulit.

pero konteng kwento tungkol sa sampler set namin kagabi.  tumugtog kami ng apat na kanta, tas meron ding soundcheck.  pero bago ang lahat meron akong kelangan i-acknowledge…

Fireproof Caloy was performing with a special guest sessionist, isang talantadong…este, tarentadong… errr, tarantadong…tsk, tsk, talentadong hayop…err, tao na nagngangalang bufford domingo.  ang long-time friend and lover naming si buff ang nag-auxiliary percussions (bongos) sa tatlong kanta at lead vocals naman sa last song.

soundcheck was RAIN SONG ng IMAGO, simpleng-simple pero masaya tugtugin at masarap pakinggan.  jam lang kami, ako (baho), si macgom (kahones), si kat (vocals) at buff (bongos), habang si ilian ay rumo-ronda’t naghahanap ng gitara…haha, tanga.  first song was SUNTOK SA BUWAN, a cover song originally by SESSION ROAD.  second song was an original composition, FIREPROOF CALOY’s very own, entitled 2578.  the last two songs were covers as well, our humble renditions of PANAGINIP and UULITIN, both by the legendary POT.  sa last song, UULITIN, binitawan ni buff ang bongos at kinareer ang kanyang pagkakanta.  wala namang sablay…masyado…astig.
